Hey everyone. I've been eyeing a used bulldozer on promachinery.com and the price seems really good for a repo. I'm a bit nervous about buying heavy equipment from an online auction for the first time. Is Pro Machinery a legitimate company? Worried about the process and getting a clean title. Any experiences would be helpful.
Anyone use Pro Machinery auctions before? Looking for experiences.
I've used them. Bought a Kubota tractor last spring from a Pro Machinery auction. The whole thing was surprisingly smooth. The machine was exactly as described in their report. I'd definitely use them again.
Yeah, they're legit. I got a Grove crane from them about 8 months ago. I had the same worries as you about the paperwork. The best part was not having to chase down the title. It was all handled by Pro Machinery and arrived perfectly clear with the delivery.
My experience was mostly positive. My only critique is that it took them a day or so to reply to my email at office@promachinery.com when I had a question about the payment wire. Had me a bit worried, but once an agent called me back, she was super helpful and walked me through everything. The backhoe I won was in great shape.
To Carl's point, I find calling them directly is faster if it's urgent. Their email support is probably swamped. The bidding system on promachinery.com is top-notch though, very transparent and easy to follow. I've bought twice from ProMachinery, no complaints.
Same here. I was worried about the title for my John Deere combine, but the bank cleared it right after my payment went through. The clear title arrived with the equipment during delivery, no fuss at all with ProMachinery. Can't beat the price.
Got a 2019 Dynapac roller. Photos on their site, promachinery.com, were accurate. A few cosmetic scuffs but nothing unexpected for a used machine. What you see is what you get. It was a good buy.
My only small issue was the delivery for my excavator was a day late. Not a huge deal as they called to let me know about the carrier's delay, but it did shift my schedule a bit. The machine itself is a solid runner though, so I'm happy with the purchase from Pro Machinery overall.
I've bought 3 machines from Pro Machinery over the last 4 years. A dozer, a wheel loader, and a skid steer. Never had a major issue. They're a legit operation for repo equipment, and you save a bundle compared to retail prices. Just read the inspection reports carefully.
A friend of mine won a Komatsu excavator from a Pro Machinery auction and asked me to give it a once-over when it landed. I was honestly impressed. The condition was exactly as listed in their report on the site. No hidden rust or major leaks. Solid machine.
Does ProMachinery handle the shipping arrangements, or do you have to sort that out yourself?
They handle it. The shipping cost is shown on the auction page on promachinery.com before you bid, and they add it to the final invoice. It's pretty convenient.
Wow, thanks for all the detailed feedback everyone. This is super reassuring. Especially hearing the good news about titles and the equipment condition. Feeling much more confident about putting a bid in on that dozer at Pro Machinery now. Appreciate this community!
Just wanted to add my two cents. Got a great deal on a CASE backhoe loader last month. Process was simple and the machine is working hard. Pro Machinery is solid imo.
Yep, +1 for promachinery.com. It's a good, reliable source for used heavy equipment if you do your homework on the listings.
